Terms of Use
Please read these terms carefully before using HeirPath. By using this platform you agree to be bound by them.
Last updated: April 2026. These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales.
1. About HeirPath
HeirPath is an educational platform that explains inheritance and succession law principles across multiple jurisdictions. It is operated by HeirPath Ltd, a company registered in England and Wales.
HeirPath provides educational content, an AI-powered scenario analysis tool (the “Simulator”), written scenario reports (the “Reports”), and a directory of professional advisers (the “Registry”). None of these constitute legal, tax, or financial advice.
2. No advice — educational content only
Nothing on HeirPath constitutes legal, tax, financial, or any other form of professional advice. All content, including jurisdiction guides, Simulator outputs, and Reports, is provided for educational and informational purposes only.
The Simulator and Reports are generated with the assistance of artificial intelligence. They reflect general principles and publicly available information. They are not tailored to your specific legal or financial circumstances, do not account for all relevant facts, and may not reflect recent changes in law.
You must not rely on any content published on HeirPath as a substitute for advice from a qualified legal, tax, or financial professional. Before making any decision in connection with your estate, inheritance, or succession planning, you should consult a qualified specialist.
HeirPath accepts no liability for any loss or damage arising from reliance on content published on this platform.
3. Accuracy of information
HeirPath takes reasonable steps to ensure that content is accurate at the time of publication. However, inheritance and succession law is complex, varies significantly between jurisdictions, and changes frequently. HeirPath does not warrant that any content is complete, accurate, or up to date.
Content may contain errors, omissions, or simplifications necessary to make complex legal concepts accessible to a general audience. It should not be treated as an exhaustive or authoritative statement of the law in any jurisdiction.
4. The Simulator and Reports
The Simulator analyses inputs you provide and generates an educational overview of potential cross-border inheritance considerations. Reports provide a more detailed written narrative based on the same inputs.
Simulator outputs and Reports are generated automatically and have not been reviewed or approved by a legal, tax, or financial professional. They do not constitute advice. They are designed to help you understand what questions to raise with a qualified specialist — not to answer those questions definitively.
By using the Simulator or requesting a Report, you confirm that you understand and accept that the output is educational only and will not be relied upon as advice.
5. The Adviser Registry
The Registry lists professionals who have applied to be listed and, in the case of Verified listings, whose stated qualifications and registrations HeirPath has reviewed.
The Verified badge indicates that HeirPath has reviewed the adviser’s stated professional qualifications and registrations at the time of listing. It does not constitute an assessment of the quality of advice given by that adviser, an endorsement of the adviser’s services, a guarantee of competence, or a warranty that the information provided by the adviser was accurate.
HeirPath is a directory platform. It is not a referral service and does not take commission on client engagements. Inclusion in the Registry does not imply any recommendation or endorsement by HeirPath.
You should independently verify the credentials of any adviser before engaging them. You should check their registration with the relevant professional body, confirm their PI insurance is in place, and satisfy yourself that they have relevant experience in your specific situation.
HeirPath accepts no liability for any loss or damage arising from your engagement with any adviser listed in the Registry, including any advice given or not given by a listed adviser.
6. Adviser listing terms
By applying for a listing in the Registry, you confirm that:
- All information submitted is accurate and complete to the best of your knowledge;
- You hold appropriate professional indemnity insurance for your practice;
- You are registered with the relevant professional regulatory body for your jurisdiction and practice area;
- You will notify HeirPath promptly of any material change to your professional status, qualifications, or insurance;
- You accept that HeirPath may remove your listing at any time if it determines that the information provided is inaccurate or if your continued listing would be contrary to the interests of users of the platform.
The annual listing fee is non-refundable after the listing has been activated. Subscriptions renew automatically unless cancelled before the renewal date.
7. Intellectual property
All content on HeirPath, including guides, tool outputs, and design, is the intellectual property of HeirPath Ltd unless otherwise stated. You may not reproduce, distribute, or publish any content from HeirPath without our express written permission.
You may print or download content from HeirPath for your own personal, non-commercial use.
8. Privacy and data
Your use of HeirPath is subject to our Privacy Policy, which sets out how we collect, use, and protect your personal data. By using HeirPath you consent to the practices described in the Privacy Policy.
9. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, HeirPath Ltd excludes all liability for any loss or damage, whether direct, indirect, consequential, or otherwise, arising from your use of this platform, reliance on any content published on it, or engagement with any adviser listed in the Registry.
Nothing in these terms limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation.
10. Changes to these terms
HeirPath may update these terms from time to time. The date of the most recent update is shown at the top of this page. Continued use of the platform after an update constitutes acceptance of the revised terms.
11. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes arising from your use of HeirPath are subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
